Progressive Care Nurse New

Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for a Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) opportunity to support one of our leading healthcare clients in Madison, WI. This is a 13-week contract assignment with a high likelihood of extension and a great way to gain experience with a top-tier healthcare system!

Job Description:

• Job Title: Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Location: Madison, WI
• Schedule: 3x12s/ 4*12s – Nights, Every Other Weekend
• Shift: 12-hour Nights
• Pay Rate: $2,500 - $3,000 weekly (Travel) | (Local within 60 miles)

Overview:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Intermediate Care Unit at a well-established healthcare facility. This IMCU handles a wide range of complex cardiac, respiratory, and medical-surgical patients. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with strong progressive care experience to work in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, direct patient care for intermediate/step-down level patients.
• Monitor and manage complex conditions such as heart failure, dysrhythmias, sepsis, DKA, respiratory distress, and post-vascular surgical recovery.
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and deliver advanced oxygen therapy.
• Assist in specialized procedures including TR-band weaning and bedside thoracentesis.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure cohesive patient care plans.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation using EPIC charting.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Active WI or Compact RN license (Must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU or PCU experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
• Experience with EPIC charting (preferred)
